OUR GOALS:
Our goal is to build a handicap accessible playground so all children of the community can play. We are an elementary school that has been labeled as a "FULLY INCLUSIVE SCHOOL". The school was recognized for its efforts to ensure that the needs of all students are met, including those with disabilities and those with linguistically diverse backgrounds. Unfortunately, we do not have a playground for all children to play on. This playground would do the following:
-
Enhance Classroom Learning - provides outdoor Curriculum
-
Creating Environmental Awareness - Connecting children with the natural environment
-
Social Benefits of Inclusive Play - inclusive play has lifelong social benefits for children
-
Promoting Physical Activity - help creates a healthy lifestyle that is fun but challenging.
-
Building a Community - play is essential for all people, not just children.
As a non-profit organization, we desperately need your help. It is our hope that you will help us build this playground. If you could help out in any of the following ways.
-
Donating the Funds to purchase the playground (If you would like to donate all the funds needed we would be happy to name the playground after anyone of your choice.)
-
Buying a piece of the playground and have your name put on a plaque that will be hung inside the school.
-
Donating a gift suitable for auction (basket or silent). A suggestion for a donation, depending on the nature of your business, would be free passes, dinner for two, tickets for a show, gift certificates, actual merchandise, autographed memorabilia or anything else you deem suitable for auction.
Any help that you can provide will be greatly appreciated.
On behalf of the children, their families, and the school district we thank you very much in advance for lending your support to help build our new playground.
We believe in a safe place for all children, no matter your disability, to have a place to play.
We believe play is essential for children of all ages and abilities; universally designed play environments are a fundamental statement about social values and everyone's right to play. They encourage equality of play opportunity, full participation in play, and the independence of the child.
